Lieutenant Danenhower expects | threats to Johu Kirwin | cLore Home at Last. LIEU. DANENHOWER WELCOMED BACK TO WASH- INGTON. Lieut. John W. Danenhower, of Jeannette fame, upon his arrival in the city last evening, met with a perfect ovation at the Baltimore and Ohio depot, where a large crowd was collected to greet him. He arrived at 8 o’clock from Philadelphia, and was accompanied by his father and mother and Charlie Long Sing, the cabin steward, who attended Lieut. Danenhower through ail his Perlis, The party was greeted on the car by Mr. Wash Danenhower and the Misses Danenhower, Mr. John T. Given, Com- missioner Dent, and other members of the recep- tion committee. The Meutenant was then taken through the crowd, and the party was driven to Willatd’s, where a littie before @ o'clock the pre- arranged reception commenced. ‘Tne hotel was thronged with those desirous of seeing the Meutenant, and when he arrived with | the gentlemen of the citizens’ committee appointed to escort him from tie depot there was much ap- pliuse as he went up stairs to the parlors, where the reception took place.
