Her daughter, Mrs. John Davis, assisted her, and also Miss Cutts. Miss Lucy Frelinghuysen is at present in New York. As the reception of Secretary and Mrs. Hunt last evening was the last to occur at their residence until alter Easter, when they hope to resume their informal parties which have been so greatly en- joyed, alarger number than usnal assembled at ‘en o'clock tn their parlors. The ee who came in later, bringing with him Colonel and Mrs. Waring, of Newport, remained some time chatting with the visitors. Among these were the acting Vice-President, the Speaker and Mr:.
