On Saturday afternoon the gran4 jury sat quite’ late, and the foreman, Mr. J.B. Wilson, reported the result of their labors to District Attorney Cork- hill in the shape of presentments against several Parties charged with being concerned in the star route mail service conspiracy. These cases had been in the course of hearing for several weeks past, and much solicitude has been shown by in- terested parties as to the resu't. As the witnesses, mostly from the western states and territories, appeared before the grand jnry> they were button-holed industriously as they emerged from the jury-room by the anxtous seekers for information 2s to their testimony. Some days ago it was st ited that the grand jury had voted to present certain parties, but as the deliberations of that boty are Secret, it could. not be ascertained definitely whether the rumor was true or false. The fact that on Saturday presentments were found against several parties can now bestated on the best authority, a3 also the fact that indict } ments are being prepared. It can also be stated that the jury were unanimons in the vote on making these present ments, and that the evidence upon which they acted was of the most conclusive characte Among he parties presented for ex-Asst.
