Sy26-1w iA COMPLETE STOCK OF when the governor would have to take the oath of office, Gen. Payne refuses to embarrass his party with that complication. Representative Tucker, ex-Representatives Goode and Harris, Col. Daniels, and a score of other prominent democrats, are mentioned in connection With the nomination for governor. There re not so many candidates for the Hieutenant governorship, but the nom- ination will not go begging. For attorney general the chances appear to be decidedly in favor of the nomination of Mr. Connally F. ‘Trigg, of Washington county. He is a young lawyer, and the recognized leader of the young democracy. Last year he accepted the demo- ¢ratic nomination for Congress in the 9th dis- trict, against Fulkerson, the readjuster. The honor was considered an empty one, as the district readjuster stronghold. Trigg made a brilli vass, and was only beaten by & few votes. This made him prominent, and there seems to be a desire in the party to reward him for his plucky fight of last fall, with the Romination for attorney general. The conven- tion will meet in Richmond on the 4th of August and may last two days, as there is considerable | diversity of sentiment in the party on the subject of that troublesome state debt. One element in- sists upon an outspoken platform in favor of the | Payment of the debt, while another clement isin | favor of temporizing to catch readjusters. | ANDERSON SCOTCH GINGHAM, ‘The best in the World, for 373s Cents per yard. It is @ssential to his recovery that the pus shall be discharged as fast as it forms. An obstruction to the outtiow is followed immediately by con- stitutional troubles: by increase of fever- rigors ‘and more pain. The operation performed Sun- day morning reiieved the obstruction then exist- ing, and improvement in the patient followed. ‘The incision then made opens a straight channel for the outtlow of the pus, and thus facilitates the discharze.-and lessens the danger of the further formation of pus sacs. The operation to day was, evidently. for the purpose of keeping the track of the wound open. The fragments of | the fractured rib, which have more or less ob- structed the track of the wound from the firs were removed. The surgeons are entirely satis- fied that the stoppage of the discharge caused | the relapse and subsequent trouble. It ishoped | that the two su | operations have obviated the danger of any further obstruction to the dis- | charge.
