This give3 ‘he democrats the state by 4,510 majority. Mr. Landers, the democratic candidate for governor, says the result next week will be between 6,00 and 7,000 democratic majority. It is weil kpown that Mr. Hamlin will not bea candidate for re-election. He expressed his in- tention quite a year ago of retiring to private life, but_he was Called into the campaign last year and this, but now retires without doubt.
