The Coming Session of Congress. In less than seven weeks the Forty-tifth Con- gress will have resumed its second and final session. By constitutional limitation {t must adjourn »/ue die on March4th next. It isquite probable that the Senate bill, making greenbacks receivable for certain duties and for the purchase of 4 per cent. bonds, will be passed by the House in thg first week of its sion. Provision will have 1 be made for the taking of the next census. Ii is also probable that some method of determining the results of an election ot President and Vice President, Whieh will do away with the troubles which threatened the country two years azo, will be agreed upon. The appropriation bills, it is thought. will be passed without much opposition, and the outlook is that there will be no o casion which will require the convening of the Forty-sixth Congress in extraordinary ses- sion. mublicans will certainly desire to prevent extra session, as both branches of the legislative department will, undeubiedly, be then democratic, and a special session would n the reorganization of the Senate with ratic Officers. The colored people of Baltimore, it may be said, are making considerable progress, and many of them are no lon; sheered at as “niggers.” At the sting of the school board last night two petitions were received, one from colored citizens, asking for the establishment of an evening school for colored persons, to remain open during the winter; and one from the pt- pils of the highest class in a colored grammar School, saying that they had completed their Studies in the school, and asking for the estab- lishment 01 additional grade, so as to enable Petitioners to become an ornament to soct- ety.” Both communications were referred to the committee on colored schools.
