The Coming Session of Congress. In less than seven weeks the Forty-tifth Con- gress will have resumed its second and final session. By constitutional limitation {t must adjourn »/ue die on March4th next. While there are a great many political schemers who would be glad to interpose captious opposition to Sec- fetary Sherman’s resumption plan, it is not thought that there will be any practical lezista- tion aceomplished whieh will retard the return toaspecie basis on the ist of January next. It isquite probable that the Senate bill, making greenbacks receivable for certain duties and for the purchase of 4 per cent. bonds, will be passed by the House in thg first week of its sion. If, as claimed, the light will be much cheaper, more convenient, clearer, ‘steadier, and less trying to the eye than gas- light, the latter would not appear tostand much show in the struggle for supremacy. The in- vention, however, will merely involve a change in name from gas companies to electric light companies.
