The newspapers o° this country have done a great deal of good, and also considerable mischief ; and one of the worst offences for which they are answerable is the “making” of just such miserable dema- gogues, blatherskites, and matignants as this Kearney and his kind, by taking them up in the first instance, and afterward keeping them prominently before the public.
