The earth, which is six times larger than Mars,has got aloug pretty well for an indefinite per.od with one moon, which keeps at the respectable dis tance of 900 miles, and which is 2,150.5 miles in diameter. Mars is the nearest to the earth of the superior planets whose orbits Ne outside that of the earth. from which it is distant only 43,000,000 miles.
