The Brightwood Track. RUNNING BACES YESTERDAY. The running races at Brightwood Park were continued yesterday afternoon. Tne four races of the day comprised a half-mile dash, @ three-quarter mile dash, @ one-mile dasb, and a steeple chase. For the first race, a dash of half a mile for two-year-olds, Flora, May Flower, Dociitty and Main Brace were entered. Docility won the dash, com!ng in five lengths abead of Main Brace, who beat Flora by the same distance, and May Flower was twelve lengths i bebind. Time, 0 52. The report of Superintendent Miles shows that the total expenses of the fire-alarm telegraph office for the year were 26,393.90; a reduction of about $600 below the estimates oflast year. The report gives the number of | alarms transmitted and the number from each box. No alarms have been sounded | from 19 of the s6stations. Six aiarms were sounded from box 131, seven from box 521 and twelve from box 125. Tue fire-alarm | telegraph is in as good condition as when first completed, thirteen mouths ago. Witness was standing at the top the steps, and beard him say that he would burn the house; thathe would get a can of camphen and set the place on fire. Cross examined :—Witness had been em- ployed by Miss Snow for five years. Hunt bad made threats to ktll her at different times. Had seen him several times since the threats, and he had slept at the nouse.
