DEAD AND ALi ve—An Insane Patient who is Buried, and Afierwards Cofron's His Father.—_Edwin L. Hartley, 18 years of ag the son of Geo. W. Hartley, au ex-police o ficer, residing at 613 south 10th street, has for some time past beea confiaelin the de- ent for insane of the Philadelphia ospital, he being afflicted with softening of the brain. On Friday of last week a tele- ri jie dispatch informed Mr. Hartley that Eis antoriahate sou was dead. He at once bastened to the hospital, but found that the ‘pre had already been cofflied, and tat decomposition had set in 80 rapidly that the bespital authorities had ordered that the 0x be not opened. The death was rezu larly anounced in the obituary colamnus of the various newspapers, but none of the Hartley ‘amily, from the time of the death, jooked upon the face of the corpse.
