It is but fatr to all concerned thet the subsequent conversation should also be made puDlic. it appears that after the remark dropped from Chalrman Knott Mr. Frye repited: “You forget yourself, Mr. Knott.” “Yes,” replied Mr. Knott,*I do.” And he there- upon immediately withdrew the remark and apologized for having made it. THE INDIAN WAR IN THE SOUTH WEST.— The Commissioner of Indian Affairs has re- ceived a dispateh from Indian Agent John P. Clum, dated Chiricahua agency, June 5th, in which he says: “I arrived here this morning. Eskinga, the notorious leader of the hostile Indians, was killed yesterday by the son of Cochise. Six cther Indians were Killed in the same fight.
