OPERA ROUFFE AT THE NATIONAL. “The Princess of Trezibonde,” one of Of- fenbach’s latest and best opera bouffes, was Performed for the first time in this etty by the Oates company at the National Theater Just night, and the acting and singing of the troupe was equal to that of any French com- pany we bave had here in that line of enter- tainment, which is saying a great deal. Mrs. Oates tn the mercurial “Prince Raphael” has @ character Png fitted for her dashing style of acting, while she has some charming bits of melody assigned her, which are sung in a sympathetic and artistic manner. Drew was a capital “Tremolini,” and came out strong in the comic line, as clown and as head stew- ard, to the surprise even of his admirers, who bave seen and heard him only in more formal roles. The rest of the support was very good and the chorusses for both male and female voices were given with much spirit and correctness, particularly the Tyro- lean song by the male singers and the chorus by the female palace guard. The female chorus is rather more gifted in rsonal at- tractions than is usual with the imported article. “The Princess of Trezibonde” will be repeated at the Thanksgiving matinee to-morrow. ‘La Jolie Parfamuese,” with Mrs. Oates as “ Michon,” to-night, and “Madame Angot’s Child” to-morrow night. One of these is the practice of boxing ehil- dren’s ears.
