The Maryland aud District of Columbia dentists bad an evening session last night and discussed the paper ou operative dent istry sub ttad by Dr. H. C. Thompson, atter which Dr. R. Finley Hunt, from the joint committee of the Baltimore and Washington dental societies, appointed with a view to inducing the United States government, throwgh its army and navy medieal depart: ments. to aid in collecting statisties bearing es | on the cecay and deterioration of human teeth, informed the society that the joint committee had cousidered the subject and had submitted a paper to the Baltimore and Warhington societies, to be presente: to the surgeons general of the army and navy, in which the objects of the movement are set forth and the ald of the government invoked. The committee also had recommended that the co-operation of the Dental Society of the | State of Maryland and the District of Colum- bia be invited, and that the annual meeting of that society be made the occasion of pre- senting the matter to the government.
