As a rale, per- Sistency in wrong-doing always results in exposure and disgrace, and especially is this true of the Post Office Department, where a large corps of detectives are employed in un- earthing crime. Atlantic City, built up on the sandhilis of the Jersey coast, has through the energy and enterprise of @ few men grown upto be a beautiful and attractive pleasure resort with @ permanent population of 2,100 men, women, and children. Eighty or ninety new houses, mavy of them expensive structures with fine surroundings, were built this year, and a yet larger number will be erected next season. The notable growth of the place is attributed largely to the abundant facilities for cheap and comfortable travel there, afforded by the Camden and Atlantic railroad.
