Orrice or THe CortBoTor oF Taxes Por THE Distaict or Cotvmata, CorumBra Bot.vise, Waseinetox, S eptember 30, 1874. ‘Whereas, in obedience to the requirements of the act of the Third Legislative As- fembly, approved June 25, 1878, entitled “An act to enforce and provide for the col- lection of all taxes that may be in arrears in the Dist riet of Colambia on or after Joly first, eighteen hundred and seventy-three, and authorizing the Governor to an- ticipate the revenues from the same,” the Collector of Taxes of the said District id issue certain certifientes, as provided for in section two of said act, for the amount due and unpaid for taxes upon certain real estate in the said District, levied Dy the several sets of the Assembly of said District, approved respect- vely August 28, 1#71, and June 20, 1872, “for the support of the government of the District of Columbis, snd for otber purposes,” for the fiseal years ending June 20, 1sf2, and June 50, 173, and including the amount of penalties and cost incurred: and whereas, the owners of certain of said certificates have demanded tn writing by ;Bdorsement thereon, after the expiration of one year from the date thereof, that the Collector shall enforee the payment of the liens, and have filed the said certificates, bearing the required indorsement, in this office; I THEREFORE GIVE PUBLIU NOTICE TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, that the following real estate within the District of Columbia, being pieces of property against which said certificates have been issued, and for the enforeement of the payment of which the demand for the sale of ssid property bas been made, will be sold at public auction, for cash, to the highest bidder, under and in accordance with the provisions of the act first above mentioned, (approved June 25, 1873,)on THURSDAY, the fifteenth day of October, A.
