Lioyd, trustees of the fourth school district, stating the need of three more schools in that district—two pri- mary and one secondary—which could be im- mediately filled with pupils. Slag J state that they have secured aschool room in the base- went of the St. John’s Lutheran church, lo cated on 4% street, between C and D street: southwest, andask anthority to rent said rooms to open an additional primary school, and to employ a teacher for same. A letter was also received from Mr. Geo. F. McLelian, stating that the great increase in the number of applicants for admission to the public schools renders it necessary to secure ad- ditional rooms wherever it is possible to do so. In the second district a room can be obtained for not exceeding $200 per annum, and oneeach in the third and fourth districts for not more than £300 each. The propriety of this action will be appreciated by the medical profession in the District, as the weekly mortuary report and reports of the physicians to the poor, covering the rame period, will refer to the mortality and Cisesres witbin the same boundaries. Yesteriay he wa: sent to Georgetown for information, and it was soon ascertained that he was the proprietor of a bar- ber shop on Pennsyivania avenue, between 21st and 22d streets, Washington, and is at times partially insane. He was turned over to his friends, who will try to get him into the insane asylum.
