Kobertron’s beatiful military play, “Ours,” will be performed at the ‘National, theater this- evening, with a strong cast and the fine scenic effects tor which the magagement is noted. This play is one which gives pleasure to the met cultured audiences, and should attract as good houses as the opera. “The Lack ot Guid” is the title of a new play to be performed at the Theater Comique to- night, and as there are so many who know how it is themselves, the play is likely to draw. McGuire, chairman of the committee, said that he was instructed to say that he woald not accept a permit unless it allowed them to march in a body to the city hall, and that the men declare that they will march thither in Spite of the police commissioners. Commissioner Gardl- ner informed the committee that the commis- sioners would hold them responsible for the result if they attempted to go below Canal street. MURDER Triat.— A Cumberland correspondent of the Baltimore American says: ‘fhe chief matter of interest in regard to Cumberland at present is the ap- Se trial of John M. Resley for the muar- ler of Lioyd L. Clary. The peculiar circum. stances of the homicide gave it such great pub- licxty, and the date the occurrence is 20 recent that it is unnecessary to go into an ac- count of it in this connection. It will be recol- lected that Clary was one of the editors of the Cumberland Times, and that he was shot down in the office of that paper on October 183, by Resley, the encounter being brought about through the publication of an editorial art reflecting upon the official conduct of Kesley | father, then clerk of the court. "8 Kesley was ar- rested upon a charge of murder, and on Tues- day last the grand jury found ‘an indictment against him. ‘The indictment is in two counts, the first of which charges, with the usual amount of legal verbiage, that upon the 27th day of October, 1573, Jobn M. Resley, with a pistol, discharged a bullet against Lloyd L. Clary, wilfullyand with malice atorethought, inflicting upon the left side of his neck a wound of which he died upon the same day.
