The Rerryvilte (Va.) Tragedy. ALLEGED ATTEMPT OF LYCURGUS LiTTLE COMMIT SUICIDE—THE TRIAL SET FOR MON- DAY EX’. A —- dispatch to the Baltimore Sun, dated Winchester, Va., yesterday, says: *Lycurgus and Oscar Little, the alleged fra- tricides, are confined in the jail of Clarke county. Their trial is set for Monday, when it will probably be until the fall. Re- rt here says the statement published in the ‘ashington Star, end p to have come from Columbus Little, a spectator, is wholly at variance with the account of the that person the day of the homicide. Demian reser) ret ing 0} ° the fact that the murdered man waa’ beat it the head after the pistol wound was in- filcted. The verdict of coroner’s jary was that Clinton Little came to hisdeath from a = shot fired with premeditation by his rother Lycurgus Little. The wounded are re- covering as ray any stcneie be expected. Mrs. Little's wound is the most serious, the injuries of the others, with the exception of Oscar, being chiefly bruises about the head, received from the clubbed pistols in the hands of the combat- ants. It was reported on Monday that Lycurgus had committed suicide in the jail at’ Beryrilic, The statement was incorrect, ever, and probably arose trom the fact that he had made such an attempt on Saturday. He had obtain-d a bottle of morphine by some means, and Dr. Love. who was one of the first physicians called in, had a severe struggle with him for its pos- session.” CITY ITEMS.
