T. DW. SENTENCED TO DIF. On the lithef April the metion for a new trial was argued before Judge MacArtnur, and it was overruled. On the court asking if he had anything to say why the sentence ot the law should not be passed he made a long rambling aridress, asserting that Sam Bembry killed the peddler, and concluded by saying: “If you hang me you will hang the wrong man, jor I didn't kill the peddler. Sam said he knocked & man down and got $230 from him, and the detectives never got down to him, for he belonged to the Gallileans, and they didn’t suspect him, and if he got out ot that he could get outof this, if he was arrested.” Judge MacArthur in passing sentence said: “It is due to the community to say that the court is entirely satisfied with the verdict.” He then passed the sentence that Wright be taken to jailand be kept in close continement until Friday, the oth day of May, between the hours of 10 a. m. and 2 p. m., and be then taken to the place of execution and be hung by the reck untildead. At the conclusion of the sentence Wright remarked, “Gentlemen, it’s hard for a man to die for what he did not do.” HE WANTS TO SEE JUDGE MACARTHUR.
