Buddington, of the Resolute, is uncle to the Capt. Bui ton, of the Polaris. Both good, trae, and bleseamen. And here I may, perhaps roperly, reiterate in behalf of the friends of Capt, Jas. Buddington, of the Resolute, a protest, mide through a western paper at that time, against the unkind, ungenerous, and unjust treat nt, both by this government and also the English, of that noble and gallant officer. All he ever received for that heroic achievement was some petty pay, not half sufficient to compensate him tor bis time in any ordinary service. Almost entirely were his services ignored in the subse- quent honors and acknowledgments in retarn- ing that ship to the English government. €. Budd Doble Elepes jth Another Men’s Wife.
