The unfortu- uate victim of this scourge is one William Evans, who was taken sick several days ago and conveyed to his boarding-house on Canal street, below Pine. It was soon discovered that his symptoms were those of small pox. The case was reported to Chief Cullen, who gave im- mediate notice to the secretary of the board of health. The unfortunate man is supposed to have lingered throughout his whole sickness without as much as medical assistance or the least attention from any one.
