A Bord Tuizrt.—While Lemuel Robey, the Janitor of the building association rooms, Stew- art's building, on King street, yesterday morn- ing, was absent from the room for a short time, between 12 and 1 o'clock, some thief entered the room, removed the gas meter, placed it under the table and tore away six or seven feet of pipe as booty. The pipe would not <ell as second hand metal for more than twenty-tive cents, but it will cost five or six dollars to replace it. M of Steuben, N. ¥., in blowing from his ils discharged a portion of the poisonous mncus, 4 drop of which entered one of Mr Minet’s vyes. He immediately wiped it out, as ho sup- posed, but within twenty-four hours his eye was much swollen, attended with great pain. Medical aid was procured, and his ease pro- nownced ® hopeless one. ‘The virus matter had so permeated his system that his recovery was pronounced impossible, His flesh turned parple, and was thoroughly impregnated with the ison.
