For the latter the use of chloroform is pointed out, as recom- mended by experience. It seems, also, by this publication that an ‘Animal's Home” is in suc- cesefal operation in Philadelphia and in Boston which undertakes to receive and care for, mer- cifally kill or secure good homes for all lost or disabled animals, without charge. In Philadel- phia twenty-tive hundred dogs were received at the “Shelter” or “Home” within a year.
