THE Sioux INDIANS PEACEABLE.—Secretary Delano has received a telegram from General Cowen, assista secretary of the Interior, who is now on the frontier and among the Teton Sioux Indians, stating that the rumors about that tribe being on the war path are false; that on the contrary he finds the several tribes of Sioux Indians very peaceable, and hopes to complete his treaties in a short time. The head chiets the tribes will accompany Acsistant Secre| Cowen to this city, where the treatics will ratified. Observer refers to the fact that Angel de Iturbide, who died in the city of Mex- ico, July 18th, (the same day that Juarez died,) was, by his marriage toa lady in this District, connected with many old families ot Maryland and Virginia—the Forrests, Tayloes, Lewises, Nortons, and others. Don Angel de Iturbide was ason of the Liberator of Mexico, Augustin, who, after a brief reign as emperor, was deposed and upon attempting to regain his power was pst to death by the people w independence ie had achieved. The Iturbide family, after the death of the emperor, received trom Mexico in recognition of his previous services, a handsome endowment both im lands and money, and for many years they resided in this country.
