EVENING STAR. TRIAL OF MES. WHARTON. THE BALTIMORE POISONER. Opening Preceedings Westerday. ‘The trial of Mrs. Ellen G. Wharton, the late Major Henry Wharton, United army, indicted for the murder fiam ‘Scott Ketchum, U widow States General Wil- poison, on the 28th of ‘June, 1871, and attempt- ing to poison Eugene Van Ness on the 2th of June, 1sTl, in Baltimore, was cot menced yoo terday in the Circuit Court of Anne Aru county, sitting at Annapolis.
