Tuk EFFECTS OF THE STORM of yesterday were very disastrous to the telegraph lines, About 3 p.m. yesterday six poles were blown down just north of Annapolis Junction, and seven wires were broken. Between 4 aud5 p. m. all the wires but one between Baltimore and Philadelphia, and all but tive between Philadel- phia and New York, were disabled. Those left working were badly mixed, and worked slowly. The Western Cnicn commenced this morning with two lines to Philadelphia. By noon all was right to Baltimore, and four lines were working to Philadelphia. Stokes, charging him ‘with res ig fees while a representative in Congress." The indictment consists of eight counts, and charges that on the Ist day of March, 1871, he being a representative in Congress, did, for compensation, act as attorney in prosecuting certain Claims of membersof a company known Captain Beatty's Company of Independent uts. New York, Nov. 15.—A laden with fif- teen hundred tons of coal sunk last might, along- side the frigate Wabash. No lives were lost. The cellars on the streets bordering the rivers were flooded last night and this morning, doing considerable damage.
