Suljoined we give some particalars corcern ing the members of the Territoriaf Counci nominated by the President to-day, as above: Danter L. Eaton was edacated at Bowdon College, Maine, where he gradaated in 181; studied law with George F. Shepley, now Judge of the United States Circuit Court; settled in Pittsbu y in 1834, and, entering earnestly into the canvass for ( mont in 1856 Pittsburg ¢ cutbreak of the civil war. E. tanton, himself of Pittsburg, appointed him a paymas-: in the United States arniy, where he served till November, 1866. Subsequently he aceepted the position or Actuary of the Freedman’s Saving and Trust Company, &c. He is held ia h respect by all who know him. MR. Jopy A. GRAY (colored) is a resident of the First Ward, of which he is a native, and is about 42 years of age. Notwithstanding the «iifficulties experienced here by colored men in years past in gaining an education, he succeeded in o} taining @ very good business training in the early schools of this District, taught by Mr. Henry Smothers and Rev. John F. Oook, (the father of our Register,) at the corner of i4th and H streets, He learned the business of brick- making, but did not work long at it, and during the first b sdew of Mr, Lincoln was @ messen, in the etary of the Treasury's oflice. is position he resigned, and entered into business as @ green grocer, op L street, near 15th, and subsequently erected a fine brick residence on 15th street, in which, for several years, he has conducted a first-class restaurant, and has built up an excellent business. He is connected with the Hamilton House, (formerly Rugby,) corrier of 14th and K streets. He has long been an active member of the !th-street Presbyterian Chureh, and is a prominent member of the Masonic order. He is @ man of good mind, and although in the board he may not be arded as a brilliant speaker, he will assuredly nd well amongst the workers of that body. A. K. Browse is a native of New York, and came kere during the war in the empioy- ment of the Christian Commission, and was ai terwards chosen president of the Young Men’s Christian Association of this city, and received the appointment of solicitor of the Freedman’s Boreau, which position he filled for upwards of three years.
