On the whole, the condition of affairs at last accounts was ne‘ther satisfactory nor creditable, but it is thought that good feeling will be re- stored by the time the-commission gets home; and, counting on Mr. Wade's sturdy strength of character and doggedness of purpose, we incline to the opinion that his views will give tone ang color to the report when it comes to be sub- mitted. This Pennsylvania company, which consists of five directors, organized recently by the election of Thos. A. Scott, president; Wm. ‘Thaw, vice president, and J. N. McCullough, general manager. - +s00- We regret to observé that the new demo- cratic newspaper at Pittsburg, christened Ti- Paper, has suspended for want of support, after a strogzle for three months, and sinking nearly in expenditures paid and debts ont- ts title was regarded as an unfortu- nate one, and its appearance was in some re- Spects unprepossessing, but The Paper was nevertheless @ journal of abilty and character, and bade fair, if it succeeded im gaining a tirm footing, to be a credit to Pennsylvania journal asm.
