RESULT OF EXCESSIVE LITERARY LATOR. Jota O'Donovan and James Cullen were charged with an aitrvy on Saturday night in the streets. The officer testitied to their both being very drupk on the correr of 10th street and Pennsylvania averue, and that Cullen had Jobn under and was wallopping him .oundly. Jobn asked to be heard. and stated that he hal just left the Chronicle office, where he had been Peparing an article for that paper waich re- uired a great deal of mental labor, and on eax ing he met his friend Cullen, and in the joy of his heart shook him warmly by the hand, and for some cause or other he toppled over. the policeman imagined they were fighting, an in the faithtul discharge of his duty took them both to the station-house, where, instead of being discharged, as they should have been, they were locked up.
