THE COLORED ScHOOL TrusTRES.—A meet- ing of this board was held last evening at the Stevens School-house, all the members present. Mr. King reported that he could find no suitable building at present to take the place of the one occupied last winter in Murder Bay, but that negotiations were going on which t lead to one being secured. It was decided to rent Car- rcll Hall, where the school was held last year, for the present. The question of a suitable loca- thon for a high | was discussed at some length, and finally referred to Messrs. King and Wormley, with power to secure a proper place in which to open such school, and see that it was put in readiness. An appeal from D. C. Patter- fon for the opening of a school at Lincoln build- ings, in which he represents that there are from fifty to one hundred children who cannot attend school elsewhere, was presented and laid over. Mr. Syphax was directed to call on the Mayor and ascertain the amount of money due the colored schools. A letter was received from Mrs. E. J. Brooks, denying any knowledge of the letter p ited to the board on the 10th instant, and published in the Republican, purporting to have been signed by her and three other teachers, de- manding to know the reason why their names were dropped from the rolls.
