Darr. {In our report of the prize scholars of Miss« Lizzie Hinton’s school, on Saturday last, the name of Frank Gurharst should have read Frank Zurborst.} Fourta District.—Secondary No. 3, for girls, located on 4% street, between M and N streets south, Miss Belle C. Peyton teacher, was examined yesterday by Trustee Champlin, assisted by Mr. John E. Thompson, teacher of the Male Grammar School of this District, Mc. H. MeIntire and ex-Councilman Bates. This examination was very satisfactory to the exam- iners and gratifying to the parents of the pupils who were present, and the teacher. The exer- cises in numeratiun and mental and practical arithmetic were quite up tothe mark, and for girls whose ages range from nine to fourteen years, the correct and prompt answers to the rather difficult questions propounded by Mr. Thompson showed plainly that great care hes been used by the teacher. The musical talent of these pupils has not been overlooked as shown by some well executed choruse- yester- day. Mr. Champlin read the roll of merit and wiih appropriate remarks gave out the awards.
