GEORGETOWN. —e A Narrow Escars.—This morning, about 4 o'clock , two watchmen, named 6 and Isaac Branzell, who are on duty at the Aqueduct Bridge, saved a soldier of the Signal Corps, named Black, from almost instant death. Black’ was the bridge, in a fearfully ited » and in attem; to — the tow towards the Aqueduct yw, slipped and fell on the iron railing of the abutment, near the Canal Colicctor’s office. The abutment here is sixty feet high. which would have been a fatal fall for him; ut some how or other he got caught in the railing while falling, and when the wa! nm were attracted by his Brganh: they found him hanging over the perilous ight, and only saved from falling by his wrist being twisted between the iron railing.
