The old Exchange Bank has yet made no settie- ment, and its affairs are further complicated by injunctions which bave been laid upon it to prevent its paying over deposits and checks. The courts have been d: into the muddle, and Belden, McKinney and Hooper are in de- mand by Officers, armed with writs, who areanxiously looking after them. The Gold Board was not in session yesterday, and the quotations were only nominal. The financial squall is fringing specie to this country by mi is from banks of France and England, as well as from private treasures, One of the most singular things in the tran: actions by which Wail street was mad Bedlam on Thursday and Friday was their enormous extent. The sales of gold er Thurs. day smounted to three hundred and fifty mil- Jions of dollars, and on Friday to five hundred millions. The order sent by the Secretary of the Treas- ury for the October sales of gold and purchase of bonds fu! ther indicates the easy condition of the Treasury finances and the con dence of the Administration in the continaed success of its effor's to Increase the revenue. The aggregate purchase of bonds for the month of October Will be $10. The disbursement of $3,00°,0.0 of gold auring the month, with $30,000,000 more for interest on the istof November, onght to make the gold market easy for the balance ofthe busy season. There iga quieter feeling rvading Wall street now and confidence is jowly but surely being restored. The money market is stringent and as high even as 14 per centis paid on high ced stocks.
