The former color, red, will also be restored. A month or two may elapse before the new stamps will be ready. Gemegat Laxp OFrice.—Commissioner Wilson, of the General Land Office, has re- ceived advices from the Surveyor General at Lawrence, Kageas, showing the completion of the survey of twenty additional townsnips m that State, north of the Ventral Pacific railroad: eastern division, and Fort Hays, between Solo- mon and Salime Forks of Kansas river, em- bracing an aggregate aren of 459,765 acres. ‘The surface of this region 1s generally roll- ing, imtersecited by several branches of Saline and Solomon Forks, which are skirted with timber consisting of elm, cottonwood, ash, box- elder, and backberry. The soil is mostly sec. ond and third rate, not so well adapted toagri- cultural purposes as grazmg.
