Accord. ingly, this morning, in company with sanitary Officer Patten, he notified the owners and lessees of property along the line of the pro- posed new street, to have removed within twenty days from date the heavy mass of tim. ber, wood, coal, &c,and the buildings and sheds which have heretofore obstructed the same. Embraced m the property to be re- moved is the following :—The offices, building Piles of lumber, coal, and wood at Messrs. S P. By this arrangement the condemnation of at lenst ten thousand dollars worth of pri- Fate building property will be necessitated, besides the trouble, expense and incon venience incurred in procuring suitable sites and having Temoved the immense quantities ot lumber, coal and otber obstructions which have been permitted to remain in the street. Mr. Brown, ‘We learn, protests against being compelled to remove bis office, &c. The Commissioner states that ina few ‘weeks steps will be taken to remove the sea- wall running from 7:b to 9th street, about seventy feet further out to the channel, when the imtervening space will be filled with the dirt which will be dug from the banks in the course of the construction of the new (River) street.
