The purchase of Alaska, completion of the Pucifle Railroad, and the | opening of trade in the Pacific, will creatly in- | crease this desire to be annexed to the great Re- | public of the W d we must wot be sur- | prised if the Sondwich Islands are ere long knocking st the door of the Union for admit- tance.
