The | mam stipulations of the treaty are said to be | that the North German Confederation Govern- | ment will consider North German naturalized Citizens in America as American citizens afer five years’ residence’ in that country, with the ©xception of criminals and direct deserters from their flag. If a German citizen, naturalized in America, returns to his native country without | intending to go back to America, he will be regarded as baying abandoned bis American naturalization right. This clause also applies to naturalized Germans who may reside for | more than two years in North Germany after returning from America. Similar provisions to the above are made with reference to Ameri- cans who become naturalized in North Ger- many. The following order was adopted by the Senate on Wednesday: That during the trial of impeachment now pending, no persons besides those who have the privilege of the floor and clerks of the standing commitiees of the Senate shall be ad- | mitted te that portion of the Capitol set apart for the use of the Senate and its officers, except upon tickets to be issued by the Sergeant-at- arms. The number of tickets shall not exceed one thonsand.
