Tux Exrgctions.—The result in Ohio and Peansylvania is definitely settled by the latest returns. In the former State General Hgyes, ihe Republican Governor, is elected by about three thousand votes. In Pennsylvania it will fall from eighty to one hundred thousand votes below the aggregate dlast year. The Gazette and Commercial, (Republican,) this morning, agree that Gen. Hayes ts certainly elected by nearly three thousand, and the Enguiviy (Democratic) concedes it by & lcs majority. The Legislature is Democratic. ‘The party here are already counting on Hon. George H. Pendleton’s election to the United StajesSenate The Gazette's tables to-day show that the contest was very close in many coun- tes. In Kuox couaty the Republicans had a majority of two, and in one county there was a tie. 3 THE INDIANA ELECTION. Large Re ins Claimed in the Seuthern Tier of Counties. [Special Dispatch to the Star.] INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 14.—The returns from the county elections in this State show large Republican gains in the lower tier of counties, and considerable Democratic gains in the northern counties, especially in the Fort Wayne district. Official returns from the ten counties on the Onio river show a gain of 1,500 for the Republicans. The Jovrnal.claitas that the result in the State will show decided Republican games. ‘The Democracy have issued their call for a Delegate State Convention to meet here on the Sth of January.
