It is alleged that Kimball did not advertise the house for sale, as required by law, but that he wept it in’ possession and nd it. and that while it was in Bis posses. sion the borse died. Leavy was represented by Mr. M. Howard Norris, who contended that Kimbali was re- pensibie for the horse because the levy was illegal, Leavy being & non-resident, and being possessed of butone horse, which he uses in Lis business ct farming. and which by law is exempt. Owen Clark was brought before Squire White at No. 5, south Royal street, yesterday, on the complaint of his wife for not furnishing ber with all the means of living that sbe de- mands. Clark set up in defence that be could not live with ber because of her teedemey to ‘ag- domestic brawls and strong drink. The istrate held that having taken her for «better or for worse,” he must submit to his tate, though it be the very worst. Clark got out of hie present imbroglio by the proffer of twodol- lars a week. though he well fears, from his luekless experience of the sex, there will soon bea cry for more. ; Jake Underwood, of Fairfax, having gone to the Maryiand shore on business, left his boat, but found. on searching for it, that the tide bad floated it off. He caused the arrest of George Deane, who had a load of sumac init. Deane was carried before Justice Whi'e, charged with abstracting the boat; but succeeded in showing that ne did not doany- thing of the kind; but that Middleton Ham- ore did. The police then went after the ater Jobn Cloe, a very worthy citizen, who lived near Union Mills, on the 0. & A. R. R., was found on Tuesday morning, about two miles from Manassas, on the railroad track with his head nearly severed from his body.
