About eizhty lodges are yet north of the Mis- souri river, but will cross over and camp near Musele-shell river as soon as* spring opens. After concentrating the forces of the cop fede- ration, they will wage a war of extermination against the whites. They say the whites have occupied their only hunting grounds: that death is inevitable, and that they prefer it in battle ratber than from starvation.
