Elvans, in the chair. A number of new members were Admitted to the society. Mr. A. G. Hall offered the following, which was passed : Resolved, That a committee of five members be appoimted to meet similar commiiiees of other associations to make arrangements for the great mass meeting to welcome to Wash- ington our noble representatives of the 29th Congress. The following, offered by Mr. Hall, were re- ferred to the executive committee: Resolved. That the Chairman appoint a com- mittee of fi members of this association to represent this body before Congress, and to especially urge upon them the necessity and the justice of extending equal suffrage te all citizens of this District, and such other matiers as will ‘end to advance the commercial and local interests of the national metropolis.
