A communication bas been received at the Navy Department from Acting Rear Admiral Godon, commanding the South Atlantic squad- ron, @Mpouncing the arrival of the flag-ship Brooklyn at the harbor of Bahia. The only noteworthy incident of a long passage under sail was the falling in with the masts and spars of alarge ship, about two hundred and fifty Milvs to the southward, which yesel had evi- dently been burned not far from the place where the wreck was discavered. On reach ing Eahia, the Nipsic, Lieut. Com. Biake, w: found awaiting the arriyal of the Brooklyn. Lieut Com. Blake had properly carried out the Department's instructions to salute the Brazihan flag. The incidenial circumstances attendant on the arrival of the Brooklyn were of the most pleasant character.
