FASHIONS FOR JANUARY, {From Le Foliet.} Although the Winter season has advanced. the fashions of wearing an entire toilette of the same material fs still adopted. White tarlatines, with double zig-7ag or in- terlacings of colored ruching, are iu fayor— above ail, thore ‘d with gold or pearl, or with stars of —_ or glass; also those with small colored designs. Another pattern meeting with much favor ia is that of flies or birds in black and gold, blue and gold, red and silver, &e. Many rich foulards are made in stripes of color on a white groand, or doted over with f*mall designs. Ball dresses, of thin material, are frequently made with tunics caught opp by Tibbons, c ords, or trails ef tlowers. At the dottom of skirts bonillonnes or flounces are Placed, and corselets with pointe, or with small separated basques, are worn. There are some chains of gold made as trimmings for white satin dresses, covered with tulle illn- sions. An evening dress of pink poult de soie, trimmed with gaion and guipure and pearls. The body is low, cut square, with a plastron of white satin joining the tablier, both of which are trimmed | with tulle and gold beads. | Gold is worn as trimming on bonnets, as Well as on other articles of dress; for ple, a black velvet bonnet is trimmed with beads of plush ribbon, striped with guld. The inside is @ torsade of black velvet, wilh three gold stars. A more simple style of drawn black velvet; bouillonne tulle crown, spotted with jet.
