At that time it was stated that Dr. Boyd went out with a revolver in bis ha and called upon the crowd to desist, &c¢. Dr. Boyd denies that he had a revolver in his hand ai all. He says he went out with his revolver in his belt, completely covered by his coat, and had nothing in his hayd whatever: that he did not even draw it from the holster during the whole alfray. He says he approached the soldiers in peacetul manner, to implore them to desist trom further outrages: but, without giving him time fo ¥ exp nation, they advanced upon bim, and made him the victim of their rage. The Doctor charges some of the women in the vicinity with having been the abettors ot the riot. ae Annual Exuipition ar St. Vixcent’s.— The annual exhibition of St. Vincent's Schoo: amer of 10th and G streets, took place yester- A large audiegce was present, ncludinyg+ na: iny of the parents of the scholars. Queen, and Albert Max- well for attempt at rape on Sarah A. Brown. ‘The scene of this outrage was the Catholic Cemetery, St. Patrick’s, and the girls are con- trabands, Another girl, Rachael Bright, was violated at the same time aud there are other parties to be arrested. Wm. O'Neil was sent to jail for further hearing and Maxwell was alismissed. Sergeant Johnson, in making his yeturn of the case, says the calling of the parties Srrested is that of loafers.
