On Saturday, Mrs. Schwartz having arrived from Richmond, the case was called up for hearing, Mr. Samuel Phillips appearing for the defense. Mrs. Schwartz testified to the robbery. and identified as much of the property &s bad been recovered by the officers, amount- ing in value to between #600 and SS00. Mr. Phillips claimed that before a commitment was made eut the justice ought to be sure from the eviderce that a requisition from the Governor of Virginia was actually here, or that cne had been applied for.
