The committee on grievance reported resoln- tions for relief of J. R. Ridgeley and F. H. Smith; and the str:ets committee a resolution for repair of 7th street; which were laid on the table. Unfiniehed Business:—Ordinance for remoy- ing & pump from the pavement on High street; king appropriation for payment of certaim claims for repair of streets; for the payment of certain claims; for relief of J.G. Waters and others, authorizing the renting of the terminus of Montgomery street; for repair of lower faite road andof the new road; for the benefit of Walter Godey, and a resolution for the relief of certain persons were passed. A resolution of inquiry relative to the cost and expediency of purchasing a steam fire en- gine was referred. A resolut on offering a reward for the incen- diaries who destroyed the parsonage property of the Presbyterian church; whieh was adopt- ed. Also, aresolution postponing the sale of stalls in thenew market house till June also, a resolution for the relief of J. C Hei tond & Co. and others.
