Jobs Maloney warranted Patrick Abrens for Money loaned Mrs. Ahrens. Mrs. Mogaie Fletcher wass worn for the piain- tiff, and testified that about two years ago she came trom Ireland to this country, and that before leaving Ireland she was raquested by one Narcy Mannox to tell ber (Nancy's) cousin, John Maloney, then living in Wash- ington, to send her money to come to Wasning- ton alzo, and that she would pay him ont of her earnings after she arrived here. Mrs. Fletcher did as desired, and the money was accordingly tranemitted to her, the receipt for which, the amount being $31.25, was presented at the trial Nancy Mannox arrived here in due course oftime, and for five or six weeks made her home with John Maloney, her cousin, and af- terwards lived out and earned berown living, until a few weeks since, when she be- came the wife of Pairick Ahrens. A short time after the marriage Maloney went to the house of Ahrens and asked Mrs. Ahrens for the amount sent to her in {reland, whea she ordered him out of the house, jerked the lid off of the stove, and threatened to knock his brains out. Whereupon he warranted her busband for the debt. The case was fully argued by J. C. Brent, counsel for the defence, and by Messrs. Whar- ton and Miller for the prosecution. Justice Kinsey ‘rendered judgment in favor of the plaintiff. and Ahrens immediately li- quidated the debt. ¥ 3 01 Diekens Giestoro; Jos Benjamin. do; Sa town; Peter Roberta, Giesboro, a) do;WH town; James do; He Sans BRILLIANT WepviInG —Last evening a bril. hant affair came off atthe church of the Epi- phany, the occasion being the marriage of Hon. The “Pocahontas Pictures,’’ so familiar to us ali were, for that reason, bold Attempts and perfectly successful, and do credit to those who designed and executed them. The Indian chief upon the isolated rock with bis squaw wasadecided bit. The “Qaeen of Sheba” was etrkingly handsome, and the general effect ot the whole set was such 4s to cause arepetition of every scene three times, and some four, which must have been very complimentary to all concerned.
