The “regulars,” and “subs,” while perfectly aware of the fact, had no idea as to what office these women would be em- ployed in. Yesterday morning the “regs,” and “subs,” empleyed in the Times office came to work as usual, but found that blooming dam- sels in calico and crinoline had taken their places at the case. The workmen heretofore employed on the Times belonged to the Union, but, as faras heard from their successors do | not. Itis understood that the compositorial | corps is now composed of 35 women and 12 men pone of whom belong to the Typographical Union. The affair has created considerable ex- citement among the fraternity and mach curi- osity is felt regarding the result of the enter- prise.— Chicago Tribune. = Se eS SPRING DEBILITY!
