Walding, drunk; dismissed. ——— TucnpeR STORM YESTERDAY.— Another Tain ctorm, accompanied by thunder and light- ning, visited this city yesterday afternoon about two o'clock, and the air was purified and cooled. The storm was not of long continu- ance, but while it did last a good deal of water fell. The lightning played bavoe with the south chimney attached to the tail brick resi- dence of Capt. Jobn H. Goddard, on I street, between 6th and 7th streets. The fluid passed down the chimney as far as the third story chamber, splitting the flue in two parts, one side falling tothe ground. A small hole was also made through the roof and ceiling, the Jatirer of which is somewhat injured. Then fiying round the room, several picture frames ‘were torn off, and one of gilt quite blackened. | The frame of an old-fashioned looking-glass ‘was forced open, and § fancy show-bill therem ‘was torn to pieces and rolled up in small par- cels. There were a number of persons in the house at the time, but none of them were in- jured. Her lover took an opportunity to cnt open Miss Devlin’s trunk, and stole the gouds. Desmond, a dis- charged soldier of the 2d U.S. artillery. He bad been boarding at the European House for several cays, during which time he was ill and taking medicine. These notes will be convertible at the option of the holder at maturity, into six per cent. gold bearing bonds, redeemable after five and psyable twenty years from August 15, 1367.
