Several of our friends who have tried the fol- lowing composition as a grafting wax, have been much uoaeed with it. We see it also rec- ommended in some of the horticultural jour- nals—to wit: Ore pound of rosin, five ounces 95 per cent. aleoh }, one ounce beef tallow, ene tablespoon Ol epirits of turpentine. Melt the rosin over aslow fire, add the beef tablow and stir with a perfectly dry stick or piece of wire. When somewhat cooled, add the tur- pentine, and Jast, the alcohol in small quanti- ties, stirring the mass constantly. Should the alcohol cause itto lump, warm again until it melts. Keepinabotile.
